Description
SNAP-8 is a synthetic octapeptide, an extended analogue of Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline), studied in cosmetic-chemistry research for inhibiting SNARE-complex-mediated neurotransmitter vesicle release at the neuromuscular junction. The extra amino-acid residues compared with Argireline are the specific research focus, since they’re studied for their effect on SNARE-protein binding affinity.
Because SNAP-8 and Argireline share a mechanism but differ in sequence length, they’re frequently studied together in topical neuromodulatory research comparing structure-activity relationships within this specific peptide family.
