Description
TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4) is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid protein that regulates actin — the structural protein cells use to migrate and remodel their cytoskeleton. That actin-binding mechanism is what distinguishes TB-500 research from BPC-157: rather than growth-factor signalling, TB-500 is studied for its role in cell migration and structural repair at the cytoskeletal level.
Because actin dynamics underlie wound closure, angiogenesis, and cell motility broadly, TB-500 is a frequently cited reference compound in cytoskeletal and regenerative-biology research, often studied alongside BPC-157 to compare growth-factor-mediated versus structural-protein-mediated repair mechanisms.
