Saxenda

Description

Saxenda contains liraglutide, a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist licensed for chronic weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes.

It works by acting on GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite regulation, helping to reduce hunger. Saxenda is administered as a once-daily self-injection alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Saxenda is a prescription-only medicine. Eligibility is assessed through a medical questionnaire reviewed by our clinical team, and a prescription is issued only where it is clinically appropriate for you. Saxenda pens must be stored in the fridge. Do not start, stop, or change your dose without direction from your prescriber.
